One record of every change
Sevo keeps stock per variant and per location. A location is a store or a warehouse.
Stock never changes by someone typing over a number. Every change is a movement: a goods receipt, a sale, a return, a transfer, a stock count correction, an adjustment or opening stock. The quantity on hand is worked out from those movements. So you can always see why a number is what it is.
Movements cannot be edited or deleted. If something was wrong, you correct it with a new movement, such as an adjustment or a stock count.
See your stock on hand
- Open Inventory → Stock on hand.
- Choose the Location you want to see. The list shows every variant that has stock records there.
- Read the columns: On hand is what should be on the shelf. Held for orders is set aside for online-shop orders that are not finished yet. Avg cost is the average cost of one unit at this location. Min is the minimum level, if one is set.
- A Low stock badge means on hand has fallen below the minimum.
An on-hand figure shown in red is below zero. It usually means more was sold than was received or counted in. Check the movements, then fix it with a stock count.
Set a minimum stock level
- Open Inventory → Stock on hand and choose the location.
- On the item's row, click Set minimum. You need the Adjust stock permission.
- In Minimum, enter the level below which you want a warning, for example 10.
- In Order up to, enter how much you want on the shelf after reordering, for example 40. Leave it empty to use the minimum.
- Click Save. Min and Order up to show in the list, and Low stock appears when on hand falls below the minimum.
Purchasing → Suggest from reorder levels uses these numbers: it suggests ordering enough to bring each low item back up to its Order up to level. Set the minimum to 0 to stop the warning.
Quick links
The buttons at the top of Stock on hand take you straight to Adjustments, Transfers, Stock counts and Movements.
If you have no locations yet, a message asks you to create your first store. You need at least one location before you can hold stock. See “Stores and warehouses (locations)”.
Look at the movement history
- Open Inventory → Movements. The newest movements are at the top.
- To see one store only, choose it in the location box. Click All locations to see every location again.
- Each row shows When, Product, SKU, Type (for example sale, purchase receipt, transfer in, count correction), Qty and Reference.
- Reference says which document it was, in words: Sale R01-0001-0042, Goods received GRN-000031 with the supplier under it, or a transfer with its stores. The customer of a sale shows only to people who may see customers.
- Qty has a plus sign when stock came in and a minus sign when it went out.
When a number on Stock on hand surprises you, the answer is in Movements.
