Why attach a customer
A customer on a sale shows their name on the receipt and in the sales history. If the customer has a mobile number, the WhatsApp button sends the receipt straight to their chat.
Attaching a customer is optional. Most walk-in sales have no customer.
Attach an existing customer
- Under the cart, tap Add customer. On the payment screen you can tap Customer instead.
- Type part of the name or phone number in the search box.
- Tap the customer. Their name now shows on the button and on the order tab.
To take the customer off, open the customer window again and tap Remove next to On this sale.
Add a new customer at the till
This works offline too: the customer is saved on the device and sent to the server with the sale.
- Tap Add customer, then New customer.
- Type the Name.
- Type the Phone number, with at least 7 digits. It is used to find the customer next time.
- Tap Save & attach.
The customer list in the back office
- Go to POS → Customers.
- Search by name or phone, or click New customer.
- Fill in Name and either a Phone number (7 or more digits) or an E-mail. Use Notes for preferences or anything the cashier should know.
- Save. Click a row to edit a customer later.
A customer asks for their data, or to be forgotten
Under the Personal Data Protection Act a customer can ask what you hold about them, and ask you to erase it. The owner (anyone who can handle personal-data requests) does this from the customer's account.
- Go to POS → Customers and click the customer. At the bottom of their account is Personal data.
- Press Download their data (PDF) and give or send them the file: their details, sales, online orders, quotations, e-mails and balances.
- To forget them, press Erase their personal data and confirm. Their name becomes a reference like #3f2a9c and their phone, e-mail, addresses and notes are removed everywhere. Amounts and receipt numbers stay for your accounts.
If they still owe money, hold store credit or an advance, or have an order or quotation still open, the account lists what to settle first. Erasing cannot be undone.
Customer groups and their prices
When a customer of that group is put on a sale, the till prices every item from the group's list where it has a price, and shows Wholesale price under the line. The group's price is not a discount, so it does not count against the cashier's discount limit.
Offers can be for some groups only: in the offer, under Who gets it?, choose Some customer groups.
In the online shop, a customer of the group gets the group's prices and offers in the basket and at checkout once they sign in with the e-mail on their account. Two customers with the same e-mail cannot sign in until one of them is changed.
- Go to POS → Customers and click Groups (you need the right to set prices).
- Click New group, type a name such as Wholesale, and under Prices they pay choose a price list for the group, or leave the till's prices.
- Open a customer's account and choose the Group.
