The selling screen
The left side shows the products. The right side is the cart for the current order, with the totals and the Pay button underneath. On a phone the cart opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen.
The cart is a table with one line for each item. Its columns are Item, Qty, Price and Total (LKR). While any item has a discount, a Disc. column is added. On a narrow screen, such as a phone or a tablet held upright, only Item, Qty and Total are shown.
Each item takes one line, so many items fit without scrolling. A line gets a small second line only when it has something extra: the old price crossed out after a price change (was LKR …), the discount, or the line note. The item code is not on the line: point at the name to see it, or tap the name.
Each product tile shows its name and price. The item code is not on the tile: the search still finds it, and tapping a line in the cart shows it. When the device is online, a tile can also show how many are in stock at this store and how many are held for online orders. That is only a hint; it never stops you selling.
Add products
- Scan the barcode with a barcode scanner. The item goes straight into the cart.
- Or type in the search box (Scan a barcode, or type a name or item code…) and tap the tile you want. If nothing matches, the till says so; tap Clear the search to see every item again. Press Enter to add it when the code matches exactly or only one product is left.
- Or tap a category chip above the tiles to show only that category, then tap a tile. Tap All to see everything again.
- To scan with the device's camera, tap the camera button (Scan with camera) in the top bar. It works on Android phones and tablets, and on iPhone and iPad (in Safari). Each barcode you point at adds one item; keep scanning, then tap Done.
If a product has no price yet, tapping it opens a small window instead of adding it. See “Items with no price yet” below.
Items with no price yet
A tile that says no price has no selling price in this till's price list. Tapping it never adds a line without a price.
If you may manage prices, a Set price window opens. Type the price and tap Save and add. The price is saved for every till and the item goes into the cart.
If you may not, the till says: This item has no price yet. Ask a manager to set it. A manager with a PIN on this till can tap Manager: enter PIN, choose their name, type their PIN and then the price.
A price can only be set while the till is online. When the till is offline it tells you so: set the price when the connection is back, or ask a manager to set it in the back office under Catalogue → Products.
Items without a photo, and a long list of items
If you may change the catalogue and you are signed in on the till (no PIN cashier at the till), a tile without a photo shows a small camera. Tap it, then Take a photo, Choose a picture, or Find it online by barcode. The photo is saved for the item on every till and shows on this till at once. Adding a photo needs the internet.
A big catalogue shows 60 tiles at a time. More tiles load by themselves as you scroll down, or tap Show more under the tiles. To find an item faster, search for it or tap its category.
Change quantities
- Use the − and + buttons in the Qty column of the cart, or type the quantity in the box between them.
- For more options, tap the item's name on the line (or its price or total). A number pad opens with Qty, Discount and Price.
- Stay on Qty, type the new quantity and tap Done.
- To take the item off the order, tap Remove line.
Notes on a line and on the order
- For a note on one item, tap the line and type in Note for this line, for example no sugar or gift wrap. It is printed under the line on the receipt.
- For a note on the whole order, tap Note under the cart, type it and save. It is printed on the receipt, for example delivery instructions.
Totals and paying
Under the cart is a row with Add customer, Note and Discount. Below it you see the Subtotal and the Tax (incl.) contained in the prices on one line, then the Total. When the order is ready, tap Pay under the Total. The button shows the amount, for example Pay LKR 1,250.00.
When the customer hands over exactly the total in cash, tap Exact cash beside Pay instead. The sale is completed in that one tap and the Sale complete screen opens.
Above the product tiles the till may also show Customers also bought, a few items often bought together with what is in the cart. Tap one to add it.
To empty the cart without charging anything, tap Clear at the top of the cart, next to the item count (for example 12 items), and confirm Clear cart.
Keyboard shortcuts
On a till with a keyboard: F2 jumps to the search box, F4 opens payment, F8 starts a new order, F9 opens Orders, and Esc goes back. The list is also in the till menu under Shortcuts.
